Sync ParentSquare with Smitty — Never Miss a School Update

Bring ParentSquare calendars and announcements into Smitty so school dates stop living in a separate login.

ParentSquare

Watch how to connect ParentSquare so school events and updates show up in Smitty.

The problem ParentSquare leaves for parents

ParentSquare is where schools post, but most parents do not live in that app all day. Calendars sit behind another login, posts get buried, and someone still has to copy dates into the family calendar. Smitty pulls ParentSquare into the same place as the rest of your family logistics.

How to connect ParentSquare to Smitty

  1. 01

    Get the ParentSquare calendar link

In ParentSquare, open the school or class calendar and look for a subscribe, export, or iCal / .ics link. Copy that private calendar URL.

  2. 02

    Open calendar settings in Smitty

Sign in at smittyhq.com, open your family calendar, and choose Connect another calendar (or Other calendars and school portals).

  3. 03

    Paste the iCal URL

Paste the ParentSquare subscription URL, give it a clear name like “School calendar,” and connect the feed. Smitty reads events and does not edit ParentSquare.

  4. 04

    Optional: forward ParentSquare emails too

ParentSquare also sends email notifications. Forward those (or auto-forward them) to your Smitty address so announcements, permission slips, and action items get extracted alongside the calendar feed.

ParentSquare FAQ

Quick answers parents usually ask before connecting.

Does ParentSquare have an app?

Yes, ParentSquare has apps and a web portal, but many parents still miss posts because school updates compete with everything else. Smitty is for the family side: one place for school dates, reminders, and daily updates without living in ParentSquare all day.

Can I sync ParentSquare to Google Calendar?

If ParentSquare gives you an iCal link, you can subscribe that feed in Google Calendar or in Smitty. Connecting it in Smitty puts school events next to what Smitty extracts from emails and other family calendars, then surfaces what matters in your morning update.

Do I need the iCal link, or is email enough?

Either path helps. The iCal feed is best for recurring school calendar events. Forwarding ParentSquare emails (or setting auto-forward) catches posts, announcements, and action items that are not on the calendar. Many families do both.

Will Smitty change anything in ParentSquare?

No. Smitty only reads the calendar feed and the emails you forward. It never posts, replies, or edits anything in ParentSquare.

How long does ParentSquare setup take?

Usually a few minutes once you have the iCal link. Paste it into Smitty, connect the feed, and new events start showing up with your other family logistics.
