How to connect Canvas to Smitty

Open Calendar in Canvas
Sign in to Canvas and click Calendar in the left navigation.

Open Calendar Feed
In the right sidebar, click Calendar Feed. Copy the iCal subscription link from the dialog.

Open calendar settings in Smitty
Sign in at smittyhq.com, go to Settings, and choose Manage under Calendars and forwarding. Then choose Connect another calendar.

Paste the Canvas iCal URL
Paste the Canvas feed URL, give it a clear name like “Canvas calendar,” and connect the feed. Optionally assign imported items to the right household member, then choose Done.

Can I sync Canvas to Google Calendar instead?

Will Smitty change anything in Canvas?
No. Smitty only reads the calendar feed. It never posts, grades, submits, or edits anything in Canvas.

Events from the Canvas calendar feed you connect — typically assignments, quizzes, and other dated class items that Canvas includes in that feed. Smitty refreshes the feed; it does not scrape the rest of the Canvas course pages.
