Terms of service

Smitty is a privacy-first SMS assistant that helps households manage school emails, calendars, and day-to-day logistics. Features may evolve over time; this document governs your use of the service in its current form.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Smitty account. By signing up you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you're authorized to share any household members' details you add.

You're responsible for activity under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, email security@smittyhq.com immediately.

Don't forward content you don't have the right to share. Don't use Smitty to harass anyone, send unsolicited messages on someone else's behalf, attempt to reverse-engineer the service, or otherwise interfere with normal operation.

Smitty offers a 30-day free trial. You can cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be charged. After the trial, paid plans renew monthly at the rate displayed on the pricing page until you cancel.

You authorize us (and our payment processors) to charge your selected payment method on each billing cycle. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; please email hello@smittyhq.com.

Cancel any time from your account settings or by replying STOP to a Smitty text. To permanently delete your data, text DELETE or use the delete control in the web app. Deletion is irreversible.

We process your data per the privacy policy. You retain ownership of your content; we get a limited license to process it solely to operate the service for you.

We do our best to keep Smitty available and accurate, and we hold ourselves to a higher reliability bar than typical consumer apps. That said, the service is provided "as is," without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Smitty's total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email and via the web app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
