The Smitty Guide

Send the messy stuff

If it is making you remember something, send it

Family logistics do not arrive in one format. Smitty is built for the email, attachment, screenshot, note, and stray detail that would otherwise need a parent to translate it.

Family information rarely arrives calendar-ready

The useful detail is usually not the subject line. It is in paragraph six of the principal’s newsletter, printed on the second page of a tournament PDF, or sitting in a screenshot your partner sent with no explanation.

Smitty is not asking you to clean that up first. Send the thing you received.

Forwarded emails

Forward school newsletters, team updates, camp instructions, appointment reminders, birthday invitations, travel confirmations, and household logistics to your private Smitty address. One email can contain more than one useful item.

  • An event or deadline
  • Something to bring
  • A task that needs doing
  • A schedule change or cancellation
  • An address or arrival instruction

Flyers, PDFs, and screenshots

Forward supported attachments with the email. For a paper flyer, take a clear photo and include the whole page. If a private portal does not allow forwarding, send a screenshot with enough context to explain what the date belongs to.

Things you tell Smitty directly

Some information never arrives as a document. A coach says practice moved. Your child says tomorrow is pajama day. You notice the house is out of toothpaste. Tell Smitty in the words already in your head.

Remind us tonight that tomorrow is pajama day.

What Smitty cannot know on its own

Smitty only knows what your household sends, connects, or adds. It cannot hear a sideline conversation or enter a private portal by itself. For critical information, confirm against the original source.

Start with one thing you are already carrying.

Forward one real family message. Smitty will show you what it can take off your mind.
