Why Smitty sends updates
Calendars wait to be checked. Smitty’s updates are for the moments when opening three apps to reconstruct the day is already too much.
The update is not a motivational message. It should not manufacture urgency or fill an empty day with advice.
Nothing on the schedule today.
Morning updates
A morning update answers: What is happening today? What changed? What needs to leave the house with us? It can include events, unusual pickup times, deadlines, and useful arrival instructions.
Today Maya — library books due. Leo — soccer at 5:30. Players should arrive at 5:15.
Evening updates
An evening update answers: What does tomorrow require that we can still do tonight? Picture day, early dismissal, something to pack, or a form to finish belongs here.
Tomorrow Maya has picture day. School dismisses at 12:30.
Choose the update that earns its place
Household members can share the same family picture without needing identical notification habits. Use the schedule and channel that reduce checking for you.
Pause or stop messages
Change update preferences in Settings. For SMS and WhatsApp, reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Smitty should reserve extra alerts for the narrow moments when interruption is genuinely useful.
